Opening Motivational Talk by Coach Bobby

(Parents and Student-Athletes)

Half the journey to Greatness is an appreciation of the challenge.  Coach Bobby kicks off the event with an inspiring message for participating athletes and their parents, that includes:

  • Recognition of Your Gift
  • Appreciation for the work necessary to be Great.
  • Inspiration to Start the Journey

Ice Breaker (athletes) & BTY Parenting (parents)

While the athletes break off and get to know one another, Coach Bobby sits down with parents to share::

  • The things parents can do to help their child hunt greatness
  • The mistakes to avoid as a parent
  • How to hunt your own greatness alongside your athlete.
11:00 am - NOON

CHALK TALK #1: Steps 1 & 2 to Greatness

Most people make the mistake of thinking achievement is based on tools.  Tools like speed training or weight lifting.  Coach Bobby teaches that the real foundation of sustainable success exists well before the tools come into play.  There are 5 Steps to Greatness of any kind.  Steps 1 and 2 are the MOST OVERLOOKED.  AND MOST IMPORTANT.:

  • Identify what you REALLY want v. what you THINK you want and how to control and manage your thoughts and emotions.
  • Identify your Belief System and how it affects your personal habits and self-motivation.
  • Create Day-to-Day Habits and Activities that will excite and inspire you!
NOON - 1:00 pm

Strength Workout

The first training session for the student-athletes is a full-body workout that includes:

  • Coach Bobby's proprietary "Ultimate Muscle Confusion" system
  • Fun and Competitive Environment
  • Teaching of form and function during the workout
  • Age, skill, and sport-appropriate exercise
1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Lunch Break

There's nothing better than sitting down with your fellow athletes for a meal after a great workout.  Lunch Break will include:

  • Food and Drink
  • Hydration and Supplementation if requested
  • Entertainment

AFTERNOON / EVENING

2:00 pm - 3:30 pm

CHALK TALK #2: Steps 3, 4, & 5 to Greatness

Now that you understand the foundation, Steps 3 through 5 will start the process of building towards your dream or goal.  Learn:

  • "Optimizing The Athlete's Body" Exercise and Nutrition Workshop
  • The importance of Mental and Emotional Health: creating productive mental & physical habits, while avoiding the  things most likely to get in your way, including social media and your social circle w/ Special Guest: Dr. Jane Doe
  • Building your "Decision Making" Muscle & Overcoming Obstacles & Setbacks
3:30 pm - 4:00 pm

Mental and Physical Break

Often times, the most memorable parts of a camp or clinic are the breaks between sessions.  The BTY Symposium is no different.  These mental and physical breaks are meant to:

  • Allow for rest and reflection.
  • Allow for time to share and bond with other student-athletes
4:00 pm - 5:30 pm

Speed, Agility, Explosiveness Training Session

The final training session for the student-athletes is an on-field session that includes:

  • Speed Training
  • Quickness Training
  • Explosiveness and Power Training
  • Sport-Specific Movement Training
  • Fun and Competitive Environment
  • Teaching of form and function during the workout
5:30 pm - 6:00 pm

Closing Remarks & Q&A

Every day in our lives, we either get better..or we get worse.  Over the last 27 hours, you've undoubtedly gotten BETTER.  Now, let's continue the journey by:

  • Taking the lessons learned and building upon.
  • Staying in touch with the coaches and other athletes
  • Coming back for more sessions!

About the WardBoy Project

WardBoy Project, a vision of brothers TJ and Terron Ward, was born from a love for both sports and philanthropy.  The program emphasizes the importance of youth education, while highlighting the importance of physical and mental health. 

The Ward Boys, who both played Division I football and in the NFL, share a passion for affording young people in their community the same opportunities they once had: a safe place to grow, learn, and sow the seeds of success.

The WardBoy Project seeks to pay forward the lifelong lessons the boys learned from their father, Terrell Sr.  Hard work and dedication are the most obvious.  But he and their mother also taught the boys the principles that became the foundation of the WardBoy Project: "Each one must be willing to reach back and teach one” and “I am my brother’s keeper.”

To me imagination is something you creatively think about in your mind. For an example in the near future, I can imagine myself being a star player receiving offers from multiple D1 schools and being a top recruit in my class.

Meet Coach Bobby

Bobby Bluford has spent the better part of FIVE DECADES hunting greatness.  As a young child of a military man (His father, Robert Sr., served 23 years in the U.S. Army), he struggled to find his identity.  That is until sports saved him.

Football is Coach Bobby's first love.  After a successful pursuit of his dream of playing at a high level, Bobby soon discovered that football was never meant to be a destination, but a foundation.

He now teaches what he has learned about mindset, habits, and self-discipline to people of all ages and in all areas of life, helping them hunt their own greatness.

Coach Bobby has been mentoring and coaching my son for over a year now.  He has completely changed his focus and purpose.  His dedication to being the best version of himself permeates every are of his life.  It's fair to say, Coach Bobby has changed not only my son's life, but our entire family's.
